Pipeline Engineer - About this position
Reporting to the Head of Pipeline, the Pipeline Developer identifies and solves complex VFX Pipeline challenges for tools, plug-ins and VFX workflows. A successful candidate will be able to multitask, and be proactive while remaining methodical, organized, and detail oriented. Our ideal candidate will have experience working in the fast paced world of VFX using industry standard DCC applications as well as Shotgun Toolkit. You’ll be working closely with leading engineers in the field, including our team and technology partners and have the ability to learn and contribute towards the product in a meaningful way. We are continuously exploring new and exciting ways to solve complex problems and hope that is something that excites you too.
What you’ll do
•Works daily with the Pipeline and Product team to identify and implement existing and new features.
•Troubleshoot artist tool issues; develop effective solutions with pipeline team
•Follow coding standards and participate in code reviews
•Write technical briefs and UI documentation
Requirements
•1+ years’ experience in VFX, Gaming, or similar development environment
•Experience with DCC applications and Python
•Experience with user interface design in QT/PyQT
•Strong written & verbal communication skills
•The ability to communicate eloquently and effectively with non-technical stakeholders
•Proficiency with version control systems, Git preferred
•Experience with Linux or Windows operating systems
Nice to Have
•Experience with Python 3.x
•Experience with bash and powershell scripting
•Experience working with a distributed team
•Experience using or developing for Shotgun Toolkit
•Experience using the render farm Deadline
